About the Client
Di-Why Not is a retail company based in Delhi, India that offers a variety of art, craft and utilitarian items for sale. They sell everything from car care products and easy-spray aerosols to cleaners, cutting plotters, heat transfer vinyl, heat presses, safety gear, stationary and accessories — and this product range makes them a one-stop shop for hobbyists, do-it-yourselfers, crafters and small business owners who run print and customisation operations.
The brand is active on its Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages where they share product tutorials and craft ideas with a loyal group of DIY enthusiasts. They wanted a Shopify storefront that could keep up with their energetic value-centric brand personality, manage the complexities of a big, multi-category inventory, and support seasonal promotions and large buyer volumes.
The Challenge
Di-Why Not’s product lineup was broad and varied ranging from stationery to heat presses. If there wasn’t a clear category structure, the consumers that came in through Instagram and YouTube wouldn’t easily be able to find what they were looking for, and average order values would decrease. They also required a promotional infrastructure which allowed them to execute flash sales (Holi clearance, festival campaigns), have tiered discount thresholds (₹500 off ₹3000+, ₹1000 off ₹5000+) and a separate bulk order pathway for the trade buyers — all within a single Shopify store.
Our Approach
We organized the Shopify store by 9 distinct product collections, with a navigation entry point for each, and a collection page for each. It was decided to set up the announcement bar to cycle through promotional messaging (flash sales, discount thresholds, clearance events) and not require any code changes. Shopify Payments integration and digital wallet support were set up for the Indian market. A dedicated Bulk Order page was created to be a separate conversion flow for the trade and business customers, while maintaining the retail experience.

Why Shopify for This Project
Shopify was the perfect option for a product business that offers a broad selection of products, regular promotions, and acquires customers through social media. It has a smooth inventory management for multi-collection catalogues, discount and campaign tools designed with the sort of tiered promotions that Di-Why Not uses, and its checkout is optimised for mobile-first Indian customers who are regularly discovered through Instagram or YouTube.
The drawback of this option is its lack of design flexibility, and it would be an unnecessary headache for a team that wants to make way for products, conduct flash sales, and manage stock without developer assistance. Shopify’s admin provides us with complete independence in running the site, and we’re on call for any design changes, campaign page builds, and beyond anything else, technical requirements.
