Since the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer 1 on December 5, 2023, players have been waiting for its release date. Previously, leaked information suggested that it might fall in 2025.
However, the video game community has taken an unexpected turn about the GTA 6 launch date. It is assumed to be in 2026, which reportedly troubles other publishers.
Bloomberg’s new report stated, “The publishers want to see whether GTA 6 will make its deadline or slip into 2026, these people say, and they’re determined to keep their own games far, far away.”
Alongside the release drop, Bloomberg reported that competing video game developers are reportedly reluctant to release their game dates for fear of clashing with the GTA 6 in 2025.
Rockstar Games has yet to officially provide any information regarding the release of GTA 6, whether in 2025 or postponed for 2026. There’s no other perspective, that GTA 6 is the big game with almost no competition in the race. This resulted in several video game publishers intending to release their games at a farther distance from GTA 6.
Regardless of this, after the announcement of the GTA 6 tease trailer, the parent company’s shares have risen by 30%. The trailer surpassed Minecraft to become the most-watched trailer of all time, with 200 million on YouTube.
As a result, it is considered to be the best-selling video game of 2025. Publishers want to see when Rockstar Games will launch GTA 6 in 2025 or 2026, so they can release their games oppositely. The high-quality trailer grabs each one’s attention, and other publishers do not dare to compete with GTA 6.
Additionally, the trailer highlights the fictional version of Miami, Vice City with the criminal couple “Lucia and Jason.” Rockstar Games integrates high-quality tech to add fine details throughout the surroundings. The trailer covers numerous amenities like nightclubs, mud clubs, street crowds, use of social media, wildlife, beaches, and more.
Surprisingly, GTA 6 will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S games, but not for PC games. But Former GTA veteran Obbe Vermeij recently revealed that Rockstar wouldn’t officially release until it is 100% happy with it.
